Why CIRCLE OF SECURITY PARENTING™

The Path to becoming a "Good Enough" Caregiver

Circle of Security Parenting™

Circle of Security Parenting™

Sometimes as parents we can feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us. We have our own "Shark Music" going on which is getting in the way of being with our child in their moment of need. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you.

The founders of Circle of Security Parenting™, Glen Cooper, Kent Hoffman and Bert Powell have based the program on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened. They designed the program as a reflective relationship-based program to develop a shift in the way we think about parenting. The program is not lecture based, nor is it a behaviour management program. It enables us to see what is "hidden in plain sight"  regarding our child's behaviour and our own feelings in managing this.

It's about being

BIGGER, STRONGER, WISER, & KIND;

WHENEVER POSSIBLE, FOLLOWING YOUR CHILD'S NEED; AND

WHENEVER NECESSARY, TAKING CHARGE

Learning Objectives of the Program:

 • Understand your child’s emotional world by learning to read their emotional needs

• Support your child’s ability to successfully manage emotions

• Enhance the development of your child's self esteem

• Honor your innate wisdom and desire for your child to be secure

Program Design

Ideally the program is run over 8 weeks for groups of 8 to 12 participants. This enables you to go home and look for circle stories of your own, be with your child in their emotions and reflect on what it is they need from you in that moment.

Program Delivery (Flexible)

Personalised delivery methods can be arranged such as 1:1 or online group via Zoom

Group sessions can be run on the weekend via Zoom when a minimum of 8 people have registered.

Indicative Cost (GST inc)

50% discount  for second caregiver if they attend with primary caregiver.

Attendance and Completion:

Attendance is required for the 8 weeks. Catch up sessions may be available at additional cost. Sessions are not normally recorded unless all participants agree for this to occur at the beginning of the program. Recorded sessions may be  used for facilitator supervision when written permission to record the session has been obtained from all participants.

A Certificate of Participation will be provided to all attendees where full attendance has been undertaken.
