Social workers are allied health professionals who provide a range of services to help people improve their wellbeing. They must attain a degree qualification through a recognised tertiary institution and maintain continuig professional develoment to maintain registration.
Social Workers must be registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers - AASW and therefore are accountable for their practice before they can provide therapeutic services within the NDIS. They must undertake professional clinical supervision to be able to practice within the NDIS.
The profession is recognised through the Allied Health Professions Australia -AHPA.
Social workers can undertake assessments, provide individual and group interventions, and provide training for carers and other stakeholders.

Helping participants build their capacity to meet their goals through individualised strengths-based solutions
Helping a participant to understand their psychosocial disability and build their capacity to set and achieve recovery goals.
Functional Capacity Assessments, Biopsychosocial assessments and other reports which detail specific information on life domains impacted by a participants' disability and preventing them from living a meaningful life.
Offering supervision for professionals working in the human service sector to avoid burnout from the demands of the working environment and growth as a professional. Costs are $165 (GST inc)/hr for Individuals. In-person or online.
Acknowledgement by the AASW for undertaking Best Practice in Supervision training, obtained badge in 2024.
